A Sermon In Shoes
Enthusiasm was high and laugher infectious at West Point Church of the Nazarene as two sisters Joyce and Eileen taught everyone a children's song. The song's profound message captivated my imagination powerfully illustrating how we are walking testimonies. Our actions speak volumes even when our mouths are silent. The most powerful sermons are not delivered from mighty pulpits, but they are the ones that are lived out. They are sermons in shoes. "Where will my shoes lead those who follow me? Will I teach others to follow me or follow Christ? Am I a sermon in priestly pumps or a loafer in need of repair?" The somber realization is that our steps affect those around us. We can powerfully influence our world if we realize that we are "sermons in shoes."
